Role summary
Support review of contractors' quality management system plans, Inspection and Test Plans, quality procedures and templates. Monitor non-conforming conditions and effectiveness of corrective actions. Participate in quality audits and surveillances. Provide daily support to project teams implementing quality management requirements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and complete quality audit checklists, participating in internal and external audits for contractors, suppliers, and project quality programs
- Review and monitor nonconformities, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions and closure of audit findings
- Evaluate quality procedures and manuals for compliance with project quality plans and draft new procedures when required
- Support root cause analyses and develop corrective action plans addressing complex quality issues
- Provide daily support and guidance to project teams implementing quality management requirements and maintaining compliance
- Review and assess contractors' quality submittals including manuals, procedures, quality plans, inspection and test plans, audit schedules, and vendor prequalification
- Maintain communication with client quality representatives, manage relationships, and ensure consistent reporting
- Provide input to project agreed key performance indicators on monthly basis
- Develop standardized quality metrics supporting performance monitoring and continual improvement
- Conduct quality surveillances on-site, quality walkdowns, document observations or non-conformances, ensure timely resolution and follow-up
- Report to the Senior Quality Specialist
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or international equivalent
- Two to five years of experience as Quality Specialist or Engineer
- Or six to nine years of relevant quality work experience
- Technical knowledge in application of engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning practices
- Knowledge of quality principles and application to engineering, environmental, procurement, construction, testing, operations, and commissioning
- Knowledge of corrective action system application eliminating non-conforming conditions
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and their impact on quality programs
- Proficiency in oral and written communication in English Language
- Proficiency in use of relevant computer and reporting applications including but not limited to BIM 360, Power BI, Microsoft Office programs, and related tools
- Recognized degree and or specialized courses in engineering, quality, or specialized discipline
- ISO 9001 Certified for quality management system requirements or awareness
- ISO 9001:2015 Certified Auditor or Lead Auditor approved by IRCA
Requirements
- Knowledge of Bechtel's administrative practices
- Perform assessments of suppliers' and contractors' processes, systems, and practices
- Promptly identify quality-related challenges and report swiftly mitigating impact on project timelines
Education
Bachelor's degree in engineering (or international equivalent)
Experience
Two to five years as Quality Specialist or Engineer, or six to nine years of relevant quality work experience
