Role summary
Manage Zakat and taxes filing with Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) according to regulatory reporting requirements, consulting with Bupa Group and external tax advisors to ensure implementation of insurance recording systems and processes to safeguard company assets and people.
Responsibilities
- Submit ZATCA reports in compliance with regulations and external advisor alignment
- Assume responsibility for tax validation and data reconciliation
- Review VAT General Ledger accounts related to input tax and output tax
- Compare accounts with tax returns
- Identify tax compliance issues and red flags; provide practical recommendations and solutions
- Prepare ZATCA responses to assessment and inspection requirement queries
- Analyze ZATCA assessment and complete appeals documentation with zakat/tax advisors
- Review Zakat, Tax and Deferred tax calculations; disclose in Financial Statement
- Provide AOP and Forecast numbers for Zakat and Tax charges continuously
- Maintain record of double taxation treaty agreements; ensure Tax recovery from DZIT/Suppliers
- Advise management on Zakat and Tax inquiries
- Develop and implement Capital expenditure and fixed assets policies, procedures and in-process projects
- Maintain fixed assets registers with appropriate classification and accounting for company assets
- Ensure monthly journal reconciliation for depreciation and fixed asset additions with GLs
- Coordinate and respond to external auditor queries on fixed assets accounting and valuation
- Manage physical inspection of fixed assets with relevant departments to determine retention or disposal accounting
- Conduct reviews on company projects with budget team to ensure capitalization in fixed assets register
- Quality check financial statement during reporting period
- Assist in implementing proper control and procedure in Finance Operation function
