Role summary
Control and optimize workshop operations by effectively allocating jobs, monitoring work progress, and ensuring maximum productivity, efficiency and on-time vehicle delivery while maintaining high service quality and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Support maximizing workshop productivity, efficiency, and overall utilization by monitoring daily flat-rate hours, technician loading and available capacity.
- Track and record labor hours, time controls, service remarks, and required reports within the Dealer Management System (DMS) to ensure proper documentation and workflow tracking.
- Prepare and update daily job allocation sheets, compute available hours and track workshop vehicle inventory status.
- Ensure optimal use of workshop bays, tools and equipment while preventing non-productive bay occupancy.
- Assign Repair Orders (ROs) based on technician skill level and capability, ensuring accurate time on/off recording, correct operation codes and proper labor charging.
- Track work-in-progress (WIP) to ensure timely job completion and adherence to promised delivery times.
- Facilitate sublet and bought-out repairs and manage vehicles pending parts or customer approval.
- Coordinate daily with Service Advisors on WIP status and support customer approval for additional work.
- Track technician performance, time utilization and identify training needs to support development.
- Promote professional treatment of technicians and report operational or safety risks to management.
- Support ensuring adherence to workshop safety, cleanliness and operational standards.
- Provide accurate productivity, performance and utilization reports to management.
Education
Diploma in Automotive Service Technology or Auto Electrical Technology or any relevant field.
Experience
0 - 2 years in automotive diagnostics, servicing and repairs or any relevant field.
