Role summary
The Senior Legal Specialist plays a key role in protecting the organization's legal interests by providing legal advice, managing legal matters, reviewing contracts, supporting dispute resolution, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The role partners closely with business stakeholders, senior management, and external legal counsel to minimize legal risk while supporting the company's strategic and operational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide timely legal advice and practical recommendations to business stakeholders across the organization
- Support the Legal Manager in advising senior management, including the CEO, on strategic legal matters
- Review, draft, negotiate, and maintain a wide range of commercial contracts, agreements, and legal documentation
- Conduct legal assessments of disputes, claims, and litigation matters, and provide recommendations on legal strategy and settlement options
- Coordinate with external legal counsel on litigation, arbitration, and other legal proceedings
- Participate in internal and external investigations involving legal matters
- Support dispute resolution through negotiation, mediation, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms
- Provide legal guidance on company policies, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance matters
- Ensure compliance with Saudi laws and regulations, including Saudi Labor Law and other applicable legal frameworks
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business
- Maintain legal records, contracts, case files, and corporate documentation in accordance with governance requirements
- Support the review of business initiatives to identify legal risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures
- Build and maintain effective relationships with government authorities, regulators, and external legal service providers
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Law or an equivalent legal qualification
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in legal advisory, corporate legal affairs, or commercial law
- Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
- Good understanding of Saudi laws and regulations, particularly Saudi Labor Law and commercial legislation
- Experience supporting litigation, dispute resolution, or legal investigations
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Requirements
- Experience within the aviation, airline, transportation, or highly regulated industries
- Professional legal certification or postgraduate qualification is an advantage
- Experience working with external legal counsel and regulatory authorities
Education
Bachelor's degree in Law or an equivalent legal qualification
