Role summary
The Planning Engineer ensures compliance with GACA regulations, CAMO requirements, General Maintenance Manual, and Continuing Airworthiness Management Program. The role delivers timely, efficient, and compliant aircraft maintenance through planning, coordinating, and monitoring scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events while maintaining airworthiness standards and operational continuity.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with GACA regulations, CAMO requirements, GMM, and CAMP
- Schedule and monitor Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and Engineering Orders
- Align maintenance planning with approved programs and airworthiness standards
- Develop comprehensive work packages for scheduled maintenance tasks
- Ensure accurate distribution of work packages to maintenance teams
- Monitor planned tasks for completion within established timelines
- Plan and forecast Hard Time Component replacements and procurement
- Coordinate with external MROs for outsourced heavy maintenance events
- Lead C-check events at MRO with daily progress meetings
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for smooth execution
- Work closely with Material Planner for component and material availability
- Ensure materials ordered and available before scheduling maintenance
- Prevent delays by proactively identifying material or planning constraints
- Utilize AMOS for maintenance planning and APN management
- Maintain accurate planning data supporting forecasting and compliance
- Ensure planning inputs support lease and ownership requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum 2+ years in maintenance planning, CAMO, or related field
- Strong understanding of MPD, CAMP, and GMM
- Good knowledge of GACA regulations and airworthiness requirements
- Good understanding of Aircraft Manufacturer Manuals and documentation
- Working knowledge of relevant APNs within AMOS
- Understanding of aircraft lease and ownership requirements
- Strong coordination and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in time-sensitive environment
- High attention to detail and compliance discipline
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Experience
Minimum 2+ years of experience in maintenance planning, CAMO, or related engineering field within an airline or MRO environment
