Role summary
The Sr. IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing secure, scalable AWS and hybrid cloud architectures while leading end-to-end solution delivery. The role ensures compliance with Saudi cybersecurity standards, supports complex system integrations, and provides advanced troubleshooting across enterprise environments. It maintains ITIL-aligned operations with structured documentation, runbooks, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Responsibilities
- Design scalable, secure, and highly available AWS architectures
- Produce HLD/LLD documentation and architecture diagrams aligned with best practices
- Lead AWS implementations across compute, storage, networking, security, and database services
- Optimize cloud environments for cost efficiency, reliability, and performance
- Architect hybrid cloud environments integrating AWS with on-prem infrastructure
- Implement secure connectivity solutions including VPN, Direct Connect, and IPSec
- Support enterprise system and third-party integrations
- Architect integrations between legacy systems and modern cloud platforms
- Ensure compliance with Saudi cybersecurity regulations (NCA ECC, SAMA, ISO 27001)
- Design secure architectures using IAM, network segmentation, encryption, and monitoring controls
- Support audits, vulnerability management, and risk assessments
- Maintain alignment with cybersecurity governance and regulatory requirements
- Provide L3/L4 advanced troubleshooting and performance optimization
- Support production environments under ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Release)
- Ensure service continuity through structured DR and BCP documentation
- Maintain architecture documents, SOPs, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Lead end-to-end solution lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment and optimization
- Participate in RFP evaluations, technical reviews, and solution validation
- Provide architectural oversight for complex projects and infrastructure upgrades
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (Mandatory)
- Kubernetes certifications (CKA / CKAD) preferred
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in cloud architecture and enterprise IT environments
- Proven experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting production-grade cloud solutions
- Experience in Saudi regulatory and compliance environments is highly advantageous
- Strong expertise in AWS core services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, EKS, etc.)
- Experience designing hybrid cloud environments
- Deep understanding of networking, firewalls, routing, VPN, and secure connectivity
- Strong knowledge of ITIL-based operational frameworks
- Experience with disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP)
- Advanced troubleshooting capability in complex distributed systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work in high-availability production environments
- Excellent documentation discipline
- Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
