Role summary
Safety Officer responsible for inspecting equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure safety of workers engaged in Oil & Gas Facilities.
Responsibilities
- Inspect equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure safety of workers engaged in Oil & Gas Facilities
- Inspect safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and tools and replace those not meeting safety requirements
- Observe crews at work and report laxity in safety precautions, such as failure to use goggles, rubber gloves, and other safety devices
- Examine conditions of ditches and tunnels and recommend use of braces to prevent cave-ins endangering workers
- Investigate accidents to determine causes and devise preventive measures
- Instruct workers in use of safety equipment and safe work methods
- Ensure compliance with all safety procedures
- Encourage reporting of unsafe acts and conditions
- Comply with all SHE procedures prior to commencement and during work
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years' experience in Oil & Gas maintenance with High School education
- Minimum 6 years' experience in Oil & Gas maintenance with Diploma education
- Strong technical understanding of maintenance jobs related to safety
- Well organized and proactive with excellent communication skills
- Proven leadership skills with large organizations
- Maturity of judgment under pressure and ability to resolve problems
- Strategic management skills
