Role summary
KBR seeks an Electrical Technician to perform day-to-day electrical maintenance on all electrical systems, plant equipment, and facilities. The role requires strict compliance with safety and quality procedures to ensure high availability and reliability of electrical systems.
Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day electrical maintenance activities on all electrical systems, plant equipment, and facilities within designated areas
- Ensure compliance with and application of SATORP's Safety and Quality procedures during electrical maintenance execution
- Ensure proper execution of work and check activities engaged in routine maintenance
- Carry out repair and troubleshooting activities on electrical assets in a timely and quality manner
- Receive work directions from the Electrical Supervisor regarding electrical systems maintenance orders and requests
- Follow up on electrical maintenance work progress and submit regular progress reports to the Electrical Supervisor
- Keep records of daily maintenance works against planned maintenance programs and prepare work completion reports
- Enforce SATORP's policies, procedures, and regulations ensuring safety measures are strictly considered
- Perform preventive maintenance on HV and LV switchgear and control gears including testing of electronic protection relays
- Test power circuit breakers, bus bar contactors, motor starters, and automatic transfer switches
- Perform partial discharge readings on HV motor capacitors
- Perform online current signature analysis of motors
- Conduct testing on all types of transformers
- Support switchgear operations in electrical substations when requested
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Electrical Leader
- Demonstrate proactive safety aptitude and behavior
- Ensure personnel have skills, training, resources, equipment, and tools for safe routine maintenance activities
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years' experience in Oil and Gas maintenance with High School diploma
- Minimum 6 years' experience in Oil and Gas maintenance with Diploma
- Hold valid certification from recognized third-party certification body or accredited Saudi institute
- Strong technical understanding of maintenance management of Oil and Gas Facilities
- Well organized and proactive with excellent communication skills
- Proven leadership skills with large organizations
- Maturity of judgment under pressure and ability to resolve problems
- Strategic management skills
- Ability to achieve business results in multi-cultural environments
- Flexibility to travel internationally and live in KSA
Education
High School or Diploma
Experience
Minimum 6 to 8 years in Oil and Gas maintenance depending on education level
Skills
- Strong knowledge of maintaining and repairing electrical systems
- Good knowledge of electrical equipment design, installation, and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of maintaining and repairing mechanical and electro hydraulic systems
- Good knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance principles
- Strong knowledge of standards, procedures, and regulations for health, safety, and environmental preservation
- Strong communication and people skills
- Ability to perform work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Synergic and capable of handling multiple tasks
- Good command of oral and written English
- Holding certification of IECEx to repair explosion proof motors
