Role summary
The Tandem Line Team Lead is responsible for leading and overseeing tandem line operations, ensuring precision manufacturing of stamped parts while maintaining world-class quality, safety standards, and operational efficiency across the stamping production area.
Responsibilities
- Plan and operate Tandem Press line for precision manufacturing of stamped parts
- Select and configure proper production schedule according to plan
- Utilize Siemens HMI screens to perform diagnostics and resolve machine faults
- Lead and execute automatic Tandem Line operation and set up die sets for new jobs
- Set up and monitor machine performance to ensure quality and productivity
- Identify and report defective materials or operational issues to the supervisor
- Lead continuous improvement efforts by identifying potential process improvements
- Lead and collaborate with team members to meet production goals and timelines
- Troubleshoot Tandem lines throughout the plant
- Work with aluminum sheet metal and class-A surface parts for stamping operations
- Assist in ensuring 6-S standards of housekeeping are maintained in the Tandem Line area
- Ensure safety standards and compliance with work rules are consistently followed throughout Tandem line operations
- Report safety issues immediately to direct supervisor
- Report on production output, efficiency, scrap rates, and other key performance indicators to shop management
- Train and support team members to develop their operational skills
- Suggest and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Knowledge of safety and maintenance practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Detail-oriented with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency
- Technical associate degree in engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics)
- 2–4 years of stamping experience (preferably laser blanking)
- Experience with Tandem Press setup and operation
