Role summary
Lead the urban realm and landscape design agenda across the hospitality portfolio, from development brief through approved design direction, creating distinctive arrival experiences and external spaces aligned with Qiddiya vision and operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead creative definition of urban realm and landscape for hospitality environments from brief to approved design direction
- Articulate and position urban realm and landscape proposals through compelling narratives, visuals and presentations
- Define urban realm and landscape principles, narratives, planting strategies and signature elements for each hotel tier
- Oversee consultant briefing and scope definition with validation of design scope and specialist inputs
- Oversee visualisation and design communication including CGI strategy
- Lead and govern landscape and specialist consultants, driving strategic approaches on appointment and scope
- Provide functional governance to project-embedded design management teams, reviewing and endorsing deliverables
- Lead structured review of design submissions across key milestones with clear feedback and endorsement
- Provide technical input to development briefs and coordinate across disciplines
- Lead integration across architecture, interiors and masterplanning for seamless connectivity
- Oversee landscape FF&E and OS&E strategies aligned with design intent
- Lead mock-ups and prototyping for landscape quality assurance through freeze
- Provide creative and technical design oversight through design and construction phases
- Guide value engineering and design optimisation balancing multiple constraints
- Champion innovation in guest experience, materials and sensory design
- Mentor teams and drive continuous improvement of design processes and standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or related discipline
- Professional membership or recognised certification preferred such as CMLI or ASLA or equivalent
Requirements
- Strong landscape and urban realm design literacy from masterplan scale to detailed environments
- Deep understanding of hospitality outdoor design including arrival sequences, spatial flow, planting and materials
- Strong creative and spatial thinking translating landscape narratives into compelling coordinated outputs
- Ability to manage landscape consultants and influence design outcomes across disciplines
- Strong stakeholder management articulating landscape intent to secure alignment
- Commercial awareness of landscape construction, FF&E budgets, programme constraints and value engineering
- Good understanding of climate-responsive design, planting, irrigation and environmental systems for KSA/GCC contexts
- Proficiency in design tools including AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe CC and BIM/CDE platforms
- Experience in senior landscape or urban realm leadership role such as Design Director or Principal
- Proven track record delivering hospitality or resort landscape environments through construction
- Experience managing external landscape consultants and specialist sub-consultants
- Experience working across multi-disciplinary teams integrating architecture, interiors and masterplanning
- Experience developing and delivering landscape mock-ups, prototyping and material validation
- Strong experience presenting landscape concepts and external environment strategies to senior stakeholders
- Experience working with hospitality Operators and external amenity requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design or related discipline
