Role summary
Lead management, maintenance, and readiness of all physical assets and site infrastructure at a heritage and cultural programme, ensuring facilities, utilities, and environments fully support cultural programming, event operations, and visitor experience safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
Responsibilities
- Lead asset and facilities management as in-house subject matter expert on facilities management and engineering-related service delivery
- Oversee integrated hard and soft FM services including performance reviews, service standards, and operational readiness
- Manage all aspects of FM contract governance ensuring service providers deliver against contractual obligations and quality standards
- Provide engineering oversight to ensure technical maintainability, operability, and long-term readiness of assets
- Support design and phased mobilization of facilities engineering services including ramp-up and interim arrangements
- Ensure facilities management strategies support future property and asset operations in line with objectives
- Develop and implement maintenance and technical service strategies supporting property governance and lifecycle performance
- Oversee technical systems including MEP, utilities, building systems, and technology infrastructure
- Support asset maintainability and operability through design, build, testing, commissioning phases
- Monitor operator and asset performance and identify enhancement initiatives for efficiency
- Lead or support procurement and oversight of technical and specialized service providers
- Contribute to budgeting, financial management, and CAPEX planning with technical input
- Support service setup, interim management, and operation of property assets
- Provide input to monthly, quarterly, and annual internal performance reports for leadership
- Ensure reliable and efficient provision of utilities including power, water, and waste management
- Plan and coordinate infrastructure requirements to support programming and event operations
- Manage temporary utilities and infrastructure requirements in coordination with Operations
- Monitor capacity and ensure infrastructure supports peak demand during major events
- Ensure site is fully prepared to support all programming and event activities
- Coordinate readiness of all spaces, pavilions, and facilities per operational requirements
- Support event setup, changeovers, and reinstatement in coordination with Operations
- Ensure asset readiness aligns with event timelines and delivery schedules
- Lead procurement input, selection, and management of FM contractors and service providers
- Establish service level agreements and performance standards
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure delivery against contractual obligations
- Manage cost control, contract compliance, and service quality
- Ensure compliance with all asset-related regulatory, safety, and operational requirements
- Maintain all certifications, inspections, and statutory compliance documentation
- Support HSE frameworks in coordination with Operations and relevant authorities
- Ensure facilities and infrastructure meet safety standards for public use
- Implement sustainability initiatives related to energy efficiency, water usage, waste management
- Optimize asset performance and lifecycle management to reduce operating costs
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and long-term asset value enhancement
- Work closely with Operations, Programming, and Commercial functions
- Ensure alignment between asset capabilities and functional requirements
- Define and track KPIs related to asset performance, maintenance, and service delivery
- Monitor facility uptime, maintenance efficiency, and contractor performance
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and service quality
Qualifications
- Strong experience in facilities and asset management
- Knowledge of MEP systems and infrastructure management
- Vendor and contract management capability
- Understanding of asset lifecycle management and maintenance planning
- Ability to coordinate with operational and event requirements
- Problem-solving and technical decision-making skills
- Strong experience in facilities management, maintenance, and infrastructure operations
- Experience overseeing both permanent and temporary infrastructure
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, utilities management, building systems
- Experience managing technical teams and contractors
- Experience supporting large-scale events or festivals and high-footfall public environments
- Understanding of how assets support event delivery and visitor experience
- Experience managing multiple service providers and contractors
- Strong understanding of SLAs, performance management, and compliance
- Experience leading teams in complex, operational environments
- Ability to coordinate across multiple functions and stakeholders
- Experience working within structured governance environments
- Experience in large-scale destinations, cultural assets, or public venues
- Experience in pre-opening or activation phases of assets
Experience
12–15+ years of experience with strong background in asset, facilities, or infrastructure management. Proven experience managing large-scale assets, venues, or multi-use sites.
