Role summary
Specialized field technical supervisor responsible for coordinating and executing maintenance activities for assigned Offshore Support Vessels. Ensures vessels maintain continuous technical readiness and operational uptime to meet Saudi Aramco and client standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise routine, corrective, and urgent emergency maintenance for assigned vessels
- Assist in troubleshooting technical faults to minimize vessel off-hire time
- Monitor and drive compliance with Planned Maintenance System (PMS/CMMS)
- Verify planned work completion and technical record accuracy
- Coordinate with local contractors, workshops, and shore teams at Tanajib base
- Facilitate efficient delivery of spares and technical services
- Monitor maintenance spending for assigned vessels
- Ensure repairs are conducted cost-effectively and per procurement policies
- Assist with technical preparation for client and regulatory surveys
- Support Saudi Aramco Vetting, LIMS inspections, and quarterly Marine Specialist audits
- Verify technical compliance with statutory, Flag State, Class, ISM/ISPS requirements
- Adhere to Aramco marine standards
- Support technical investigations and Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures
- Ensure fixes are implemented and findings reported to Technical Superintendent
- Ensure all technical logs and maintenance records are accurate
- Maintain records ready for immediate inspection by regulatory bodies or clients
- Provide regular technical status reports to Technical Superintendent
- Report on vessel readiness, maintenance progress, and operational risks
- Act as technical resource for onboard Chief Engineers
- Provide guidance to enhance troubleshooting and technical self-sufficiency
- Monitor technical handover procedures between incoming and outgoing Chief Engineers
- Maintain valid Chief Engineer Unlimited CoC for qualified relief duty
