Role summary
As a Procurement Officer in a maritime and offshore operations environment, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring goods, equipment, and marine services necessary for fleet operations, offshore projects, and port logistics. You will manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts under relevant Incoterms, and ensure on-time procurement in compliance with maritime safety, classification, and international trade regulations.
Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate marine and offshore suppliers for equipment, spare parts, and technical services in accordance with approved vendor lists and project specifications
- Negotiate and manage procurement contracts based on ICC Incoterms such as FOB, CIF, and DDP ensuring clear allocation of delivery, risk, and cost responsibilities
- Oversee purchasing processes including issuing purchase orders, coordinating shipping logistics, and tracking deliveries to meet vessel and offshore project schedules
- Collaborate closely with fleet, engineering, and logistics teams to forecast material and equipment requirements and maintain inventory levels
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to contractual terms, quality standards, and on-time supply of critical components
- Maintain compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and maritime procurement best practices, including classification society, SOLAS, and IMO guidelines
- Identify and implement cost-saving, sustainable sourcing, and supply chain optimization initiatives for marine and offshore operations
- Maintain accurate procurement documentation, Incoterm clauses, and supplier data within ERP or e-procurement systems such as SAP or AMOS
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the maritime, offshore, or oil and gas sectors
- Strong understanding of international shipping documentation, marine logistics operations, and ICC Incoterms
- Proven track record in vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost control in a maritime or industrial context
- Proficiency in procurement and ERP systems such as SAP and AMOS and MS Office suite
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to coordinate with vessel masters, port agents, and suppliers across multiple time zones
- High attention to detail, problem-solving capability, and adaptability in fast-paced and offshore operational environments
Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, Business Administration, or a related discipline
Experience
3–5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the maritime, offshore, or oil and gas sectors
