Role summary
An advanced Instrument Specialist responsible for providing specialized support and complex troubleshooting to the Instrumentation Maintenance team, ensuring effective, safe, and cost-efficient maintenance of instrumentation systems in a petrochemical environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and support preventive, routine, and turnaround maintenance activities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex instrumentation, control, and PLC issues
- Conduct field testing, inspections, and investigations of equipment failures
- Provide technical guidance to field staff, contractors, and supervisors
- Support maintenance planning, documentation, and system reviews
- Coordinate with operations, engineering, and reliability teams
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards
- Assist with spare parts standardization, MOC processes, and personnel training
Qualifications
- Diploma in Instrumentation & Control or equivalent
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years' experience in maintenance, preferably in a petrochemical plant environment
- Fully conversant with Instrumentation and control drawings and schematic diagrams
- Fully conversant with P&ID interpretation
- Knowledge of SAP software module in Maintenance Planning
- Knowledge of MDG and spare parts of Instruments
- Conversant with applicable Instrumentation and Control standards
- Sound knowledge of international codes and standards pertaining to Instrument equipment
- Fault-finding in loops
- Familiar with PLC's and Logic
Education
