Role summary
Electrical Reliability Engineer responsible for driving initiatives that enhance reliability, availability, and maintainability of plant electrical assets. Leads implementation of reliability best practices and supports continuous improvement by evaluating and adopting new technologies and innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Expert knowledge of power system protection including design, calculation, configuration and testing
- Hands-on experience with ETAP power system software including design and calculation of load flow, short circuit, arc flash analysis and ETAP STAR
- Highly experienced with variable frequency drives from multiple manufacturers, especially ABB (ACS800, ACS880 and ACS6000 series) and Siemens
- Experienced in power transformer design, calculation and maintenance with excellent transformer DGA analysis experience
- Experienced in LV switchgear maintenance, specifically ABB MNS with ABB EMAX1 circuit breakers
- Experienced in MV and HV switchgear maintenance and reliability analysis with strong preventive maintenance knowledge for each type
- Strong knowledge in partial discharge analysis in MV motors, transformers and switchgears
- Strong knowledge of electrical condition monitoring methodologies including thermography and ultrasound
- Analyze thermal images using FLIR software to identify asset condition
- Strong knowledge in UPS and battery charger maintenance practices
- Strong knowledge in synchronous motors and generators with understanding of brush and brushless synchronous machine types
- Excellent knowledge in reliability engineering methodologies and principles like RCM and FMEA analysis
- Excellent in reading and understanding electrical drawings including single line diagrams, protection schematics and electronic schematics
- Basic knowledge in cathodic protection
- Strong knowledge of hazardous area classification and electrical installation in high explosive atmospheres
- Good knowledge of SAP system and MERIDIUM APM

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

- Minimum 12 years electrical engineering experience in petrochemical, oil and gas sectors
- Strong knowledge of protection relays and ETAP software
- Extensive experience with VFDs, switchgear, motors, transformers, UPS systems and battery chargers
- Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills
